she looked at me with sleepy eyes and said
"jie jie, can you carry me?"
"why? it's time for your nap."
"i want to see where's kor kor."
"okay. but after that you must go sleep okay."
she smiled, stood up and i picked her up.
gently rocking her, i carried her to the glass window.
"where's korkor?" she asked.
"korkor's eating there. can you see him?"
her eyes shifted for few moments
then she broke into a smile
"yes. korkor. ok i see korkor"
i carried her back to her mattress and covered the blankets for her
but, she stood up again, placed her arms around me, planted a kiss on my cheeks and said
"jiejie i love you"
with that sweetest smile i've ever seen.
the innocence and love of a 2 year old.
so simple.
so pure.
so true.
then why do we hensitate so much when it comes to love?
why do we fear so much in expressing our love?
why did we use love to cause pain and tears
love is just so simple.
we made it complicated.
love can be pure and true.
but we've stained them with doubts and bitterness.
have we lost the sacred and divine meaning of love?
have we forgotten how to love?
and this was something,
a two year old girl in the childcare centre
made me pondered.
